Dr. Carlos Parra is an Assistant Professor of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the NYU Langone Fertility Center. Originally from Miami and a bilingual Spanish speaker, he moved to New York City for medical training, which he now calls home. He completed both his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency, serving as Administrative Chief Resident, and his Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Parra earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and graduated summa cum laude from Florida International University with a degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology.
Dr. Parra believes families are built in many different ways and that each person should have the opportunity to pursue parenthood in the way and on the timeline that feels right for them. He empowers patients with the knowledge and autonomy to make informed decisions while providing compassionate, personalized care grounded in the latest evidence. He cares for patients of all backgrounds and with a wide range of family-building goals and needs, including infertility, egg or embryo freezing, reproductive genetic testing, and parenthood with donor eggs, donor sperm, or a gestational carrier.
Through clinical research, Dr. Parra is committed to advancing reproductive medicine. His work has focused especially on outcomes after egg freezing, with the goal of improving how patients are counseled about their likelihood of success. He is also passionate about innovation in assisted reproductive technology, expanding access to fertility care, and improving reproductive care for LGBTQ+ patients and patients with cancer. He has contributed to more than 40 peer-reviewed abstracts and publications, and his research directly informs the personalized, evidence-based care he provides.
