Directions to the East Side Office of NYU Langone Fertility Center

Our East Side office is conveniently located to both mass transportation options and major roads, including the FDR Drive and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, providing easy access for the entire New York City metro region whether you’re coming from Downtown Manhattan, Chelsea or Westchester County. Patients arriving at NYULFC are instructed to take the elevator directly to the 5th floor and check in at the reception desk.

Public Transportation

Our 1st Avenue fertility clinic is accessible via the 6, E and M subway lines, and is a 10-minute walk from Grand Central Station. Transportation options to and from Grand Central include the 4, 5, 6, 7, and S subway lines; the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines on the Metro-North Railroad; and the M101, M102, M103, M1, M2, M3, M4, Q32, and M42 city buses. From The Battery to the West Village, the NYU Langone Fertility Center on the East Side is easy to get to from every neighborhood in Downtown Manhattan. Plus, whether coming by car, public transit, on foot, or by bicycle, our fertility clinic is within reach no matter how you travel. Below are some helpful tips and directions to help you navigate your way from anywhere in Downtown Manhattan.

By Car (approximately 12-35 minutes, depending on location):

The best way to get to our East Side location from downtown is via:

  • Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) Drive / East River Drive
  • From Downtown, northbound entrances for the FDR are located at South Street near Battery Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street near Manhattan Bridge, and Houston Street
  • Take FDR North to Exit 9
  • Follow 1st Avenue to East 53rd Street
  • Our East Side fertility clinic will be located on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue
  • 1st Ave.
  • Head north on 1st Ave. to East 53rd Street 
  • Our East Side fertility clinic will be located on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue
  • 3rd Ave.
  • From Lower Manhattan, head north on Lafayette St.
  • Make a right on E. 4th St.
  • Make a left at Cooper Square
  • Continue onto 3rd Ave. to 53rd Street
  • Our East Side fertility clinic will be located on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue

By Public Transportation (varies):

Downtown Manhattan has many public transportation options. For the most direct route to us, you can take the northbound 6 train to 51st Street or the northbound M and E trains to Lexington Avenue/53rd Street.  

There are also the M103 bus that run from City Hall. Take the bus heading in the direction of East Harlem and get off at 3rd Avenue and 53rd Street.

Walking (approximately 50-70 minutes):

Walking directions to our East Side fertility clinic is highly dependent on where in Downtown Manhattan you’re coming from. In general, the most direct way to get to our office is to simply walk north on 3rd Avenue or Lexington Avenue.

Biking (approximately 20-35 minutes):

New York City is home to many bike lanes, making it very easy to get from point A to point B in a flash. Even if you don’t own a bicycle, you have the option of renting one through the Citi Bike program. From The Battery to Tribeca to Alphabet City, there are dozens of Citi Bike stations in Downtown Manhattan.

From Downtown, you have the option of riding along the Battery Bikeway, the E. River Greenway, and the Hudson River Greenway. Or, you could simply ride northeast on 1st Ave to 53rd Street. Click here to learn more information on bike paths, bike lanes, and greenways in New York City.

The East Side NYU Langone Fertility Center is an easy trip from Chelsea, Manhattan.

Whether you live near the High Line, Chelsea Market, Chelsea Piers, or anywhere in between, our East Side fertility clinic is easy to get to no matter where you call home. Thanks to our proximity to major roads and public transportation options, as well as NYC’s incredible walkability and bike-ability, our office is conveniently accessible by every form of travel. Below are some helpful tips and directions to help you navigate your way from anywhere in Chelsea.

By Car (approximately 20 minutes):

  • From the High Line on W. 23th St., head southeast on W. 23rd St. toward 8th Ave.
  • Turn left onto 3rd Ave.
  • Turn left onto East 53rd Street
  • Our office will be on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue.

By Public Transportation:

  • Option #1 (approximately 15 minutes):
  • Take the E train towards Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer from 23rd Street to Lexington Avenue/53rd Street (6 stops)
  • Our office will be on the north side of 53rd Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue
  • Option #2 (approximately 20 minutes):
  • Take the M train towards Forest Hills-71 Avenue 5 stops to Lexington Avenue/53rd Street
  • Our office will be on the north side of 53rd Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue

Our East Side office is approximately two miles away from the heart of Chelsea. The most direct walking path to our fertility clinic from Chelsea is:

  • From 23rd St. and 9th Ave., head southeast on W. 23rd St. toward 8th Ave.
  • Make a left on Lexington Ave.
  • Make a right on E 53rd St.
  • Our office will be on the north side of 53rd Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue

Biking (approximately 15 minutes):

From New Rochelle, Yonkers, White Plains, and beyond, our fertility clinic located on the East Side of Manhattan is easily accessible no matter where you live in Westchester County. Plus, because we’re close to both major roads and public transportation options, getting to our fertility clinic is simple whether you’re coming by car or public transit. Below are some helpful tips and directions to help you navigate your way from anywhere in Westchester County.

By Car:

The best way to get to our East Side location from Westchester is via:

  • I-87 South
  • Take I-87 S to FDR Drive in Manhattan, NY
  • Take Exit 11 from FDR Drive and continue onto 53rd Street
  • Our office will be located on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue
  • Sawmill River Parkway South
  • Follow Saw Mill River Parkway S, 1-87 S and FDR Dr. to E 53rd Street in Manhattan. 
  • Take Exit 11 from FDR Drive. 
  • Continue onto East 53rd Street
  • Our office will be located on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue
  • Sprain Brook Parkway South
  • Take Sprain Brook Pkwy S, 1-87 S and FDR Dr. to East 53rd Street in Manhattan. 
  • Take exit 11 from FDR Drive
  • Continue onto East 53rd Street
  • Our office will be located on the right between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue

By Public Transportation:

Residents of Westchester County can easily reach our Eastside fertility clinic via Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines on the Metro-North Railroad, all of which end at Grand Central Station.

From Grand Central, it’s approximately only a 10-minute walk to our clinic. Simply head north on Lexington Avenue to 53rd Street. Our office will be on north side of 53rd Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue. 

Or, if you would prefer, you can also take the 6 train from Grand Central to 51st Street. 

Patients from White Plains, Hartsdale, Scarsdale, and Yonkers also have access to the BxM4C Express Bus which runs from Westchester to Manhattan on weekday mornings and from Manhattan to Westchester on weekday afternoons and evenings:

  • Take the BXM4C Express bus to the 5th Ave @ 51st Street stop.
  • From there, walk north to 53rd Street. Our office will be on north side of 53rd Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue.
