Logistical Considerations When Selecting a Fertility Clinic Near You

Posted on September 20, 2021 by Inception Fertility

Throughout your course of care at a fertility clinic, you can expect to visit the clinic several times for your initial consultation, morning monitoring visits, egg retrieval (if applicable), embryo transfer (if applicable), and any additional procedures recommended by your physician. Juggling these appointments alongside work and home commitments can be stressful for fertility patients. Selecting a clinic that offers world class care in a convenient location can help make the process a little bit less stressful. Below are a few logistical considerations when choosing a fertility clinic near you.

Location

When selecting a fertility clinic, location is an important factor to consider in terms of both convenience and ease of access. Fortunately, New York City has extensive transportation options including taxis, subways, and buses, and NYU Langone Fertility Center’s East and West side offices are easily accessed by all.

For patients traveling from within Manhattan, our fertility clinics can be accessed by a variety of public transit options, regardless of if patients are visiting from Downtown or Uptown, Chelsea or Brooklyn.

NYU Langone Fertility Center’s East Side office, located at 660 First Avenue, is a 15-minute walk from Grand Central Station. Transportation options to and from Grand Central include the 4, 5, 6, 7, and S subway lines; the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines on the Metro-North railroad; and the M101, M102, M103, M1, M2, M3, M4, Q32, and M42 city buses.

NYU Langone Fertility Center’s West Side office, also called our “NoMad” office is an 8-minute walk from Pennsylvania Station. Transportation options to our NoMad clinic include the 1,2,3, R, W and B subway lines; Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit and the PATH train; and the M7, M104, M55 and M103 city buses.

Both clinics are also easily accessible by CitiBike with several docking stations nearby.

For patients traveling from outside of Manhattan, our East Side location (660 First Avenue) is an easy drive. We are located one block from the FDR Drive, at the 34th Street exit (Exit 8). The East Side location is also a short walk from Grand Central Station, which is convenient for patients traveling on the Metro-North railroad from New York and Connecticut suburbs (Westchester, Hudson Valley, Stamford, Greenwich).

For patients traveling from outside Manhattan, our NoMad location (109 West 27th Street) is located five blocks from the West Side Highway, at the 26th Street exit. The NoMad location is also a short walk from Pennsylvania Station and the PATH train stations at 23rd and 33rd Streets, which is convenient for patients traveling from all New Jersey suburbs.

Parking garages are available proximate to both NYU Langone Fertility Center locations.

Quality of Care

The decision to build your family with the help of a fertility specialist is both an emotional and a medical journey, and patients should be sure whichever clinic they choose provides the best possible care in a supportive environment. For some patients who live outside New York City, the highest level of care may not be available close to home. Luckily for patients in Westchester, New Jersey and Fairfield County, there are plenty of easy ways to get to our clinics. Our East Side office is conveniently located off the FDR Drive, while our NoMad office is easily accessible from the West Side Highway. Our aim is to make your journey from home to our clinic as simple as possible so you can focus on receiving world class fertility care.
