Dr. Blakemore is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Blakemore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Fertility Center. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Health where she was the Chief Administrative Resident before completing a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation and Translational Research at NYU Langone in New York City. Dr. Blakemore joined the NYU Langone Fertility Center team in 2020. Dr. Blakemore earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
Dr. Blakemore remains actively involved in research, and has published numerous articles in Fertility & Sterility, Human Reproduction, and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. In addition, she also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for submitted manuscripts for several journals.
Clinically, Dr. Blakemore’s areas of expertise and interest include female and male infertility, fertility preservation for people with cancer, egg freezing, recurrent miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, in vitro fertilization, pre-implantation genetic testing, family-building for LGTBQ+ people, ovulation induction, minimally invasive surgery, artificial insemination and oocyte donation. She is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Fertility Preservation Special Interest Group of the ASRM and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and infertility.

Dr. Grifo has been the Program Director of the NYU Langone Fertility Center since 1995. He is also the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Grifo has pioneered techniques in preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and preimplantation genetic screening (PGS). In 1992, he performed the first embryo biopsy that resulted in a live birth in the United States. A leader in egg freezing, Dr. Grifo’s research team produced the NYU Vitrification Method, which has been in use at the Center since 2004. The first baby born through the use of egg freezing at the Center was in July 2005.
