Embryo Options: Billing Process
On the anniversary date of your tissue storage with NYU Langone Fertility Center (your “freeze date”), Embryo Options will contact you with your storage invoice. This invoice will contain your temporary username and password for the Embryo Options online portal. Once you have registered with Embryo Options, you will be able to enter your credit card information in the Embryo Options system. Your credit card will be charged automatically on the freeze date for your specimen.
If you are cryopreserving multiple types of reproductive specimens (embryos, eggs, and sperm), you will receive a similar invoice notification for each specimen type. To pay those invoices, you will be required to establish a separate Embryo Options account for each specimen.
All of your eggs, embryos, or sperm will continue to be securely stored onsite at the NYU Langone Fertility Center until such time as you use your stored tissue, or you select a disposition option for your specimen. Your tissue disposition options include (1) donating to research or (2) thawing and discarding tissue. The Embryo Options portal contains comprehensive educational materials detailing each tissue disposition option.
